A Defense in Depth strategy essentially entails securing six layers, namely:
- Data
- Application
- Host
- Network
- Perimeter
- Policies, Procedures and People
Under the defense in depth approach, an organizations people are the last line of defense and hence need to be educated in recognizing and protecting against threats.
